Who We Are
Hi!
My name is Kelsey Sims, I am a wife to my best friend and a mother to two wonderful little girls, Lakelyn & Chesney.
I have not always been in love with fitness. If I am being 100% honest, I was anything but in love with fitness. I suffered for years from an ED (eating disorder). I was a cheerleader and loved it, but aside from that, I didn’t do much. I was always so worried about getting “fat” so I simply would go days without eating. And when I would eat, it was minimal.. OR the complete opposite. I would binge, HARD.
My JR year in high school I began powerlifting. I liked it, liked the idea of working out, but I still had that mindset of I did NOT want to get fat and now I didn’t want to lift heavy and get too “big”. However, by my senior year I was slowly recovering from my ED. I was eating a little better but really started to fall in love with the idea of having muscles! So I kept at it, but continued to do TONS of cardio. I did this for a few more years, cycling back and forth from barely eating to binge eating but continuing to do a ton of cardio and lift a little.
It wasn’t until after I had my first daughter that I really started understanding my fitness journey. I now had a little girl that would be watching everything I did, and I wanted her to be BETTER than I was. I wanted to be the example she needed and deserved. So I started learning more about nutrition and working out correctly and not just doing hours of cardio.. and then it happened. About a year- year and a half of HARD WORK.
I began GAINING muscle, but losing fat. I became confident in my new body! I was now a mother who worked full time, made the time for ME to workout and eat right, the healthy way. That is when it clicked. I knew THIS is what I wanted to do. I wanted to teach other women, other moms that they too could accomplish their goals!
Fast forward down the road and we had our second little girl. I continued to workout my entire pregnancy, ate correctly, most of the time with Chick Fil A included ;) and was just all around healthier this time around because I was more knowledgeable. I knew I wanted to be a SAHM but also wanted to create a name for myself in the way over populated fitness industry.
But I wanted to be different. I wanted to change then game. So my goal is to SHOW you that not only are you WORTHY of a healthier life, but you CAN accomplish anything you set your mind to. It doesn’t matter if you are male or female, a mom or not, you CAN do these workouts! You deserve to invest in YOU. And I am here to hype you up, to support you, to guide you and to teach you.
It doesn’t happen over night. Just like riding a bike. You didn’t wake up one day knowing how to do so. It to time, it took practice. It took failure, but eventually you got it. Now you don’t even have to think about it. Most importantly, you learned differently from your neighbor. What worked for them didn’t work for you, but you kept trying. Now you don’t even have to think about it. My point it, if you want it BAD enough, you WILL get it. It may take longer than you wanted, but this isn’t a race, it’s about learning a lifestyle change. One that is REALISTIC and MAINTAINABLE.
I am here to help you in every way I can, on any budget & any schedule!
Kelsey Sims, CPT.
